Whoopi Goldberg storms off set as The View co-hosts weigh in on Miranda Lambert drama

An intense debate on ABC’s “The View” started when a widely circulated video of Miranda Lambert scolding fans for taking pictures during her Las Vegas act went viral. The co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin, argued about the event. “If I paid $757 for tickets, I’m going to take as many selfies as I want,” Sunny declared, defending the right of concertgoers to take pictures. “Give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come,” Whoopi continued, emphasizing the need of showing respect.

The situation began when Lambert stopped her performance to express her dissatisfaction with fans who were taking selfies. As Whoopi sprang up from her chair to applaud the musician, she yelled at Sunny, “Turn on the television, girl.” When Whoopi posed for a picture with an audience member, the conversation lightened up and a commercial break ensued.

Some supporters stood up for Lambert in the face of criticism. From firsthand experience, Lindsey, one of the attendees, stated, “Team @mirandalambert she owes no one an apology.” She saw it all firsthand.
